About me

I am a Fine Artist. My work explores the fragile intersections between my mental health, memory, and identity. Through sculpture, printmaking, and performance, I examine anxiety, depression, and self-destructive behavior that shape my identity, memory, and habits along with how I experience love, trauma, and healing.

Through my process, I break myself down to develop a deeper understanding of my emotions. Whether I am interacting with materials such as food, performing for the camera, or recreating self-destructive acts, I am searching for a way to translate internal experience into form. These works are an ongoing attempt to dissect memory, to find meaning through repetition, and to locate a sense of self within the disorder of the mind.

Within my visual language, flowers, plants, and spaces of comfort appear throughout my work as recurring symbols. Flowers and plants serve as visual markers to changes in my life, and as reminders of my relationships with other people. While places like my bathroom and  bedroom work as symbols to portray the dichotomy between safety and discomfort.

Ultimately, through materials, physical interaction, and connection to my body,  my work is rooted in repetition as an act of both control and surrender while I attempt to understand my mind’s coping mechanisms.
