Flytrap is an installation piece. The piece consists of printed images and a sheet with residual prints from my body. Through this piece, I use a linocut stamp of a venus flytrap and printed the pattern over my body. This piece explores my body as it is consumed by a carnivorous plant, reflecting my often damaging relationship with myself and my body. I chose to print all over my naked body, wanting my piece to be an undeniable depiction of female form. I felt that showcasing myself in a vulnerable position to show the uncomfortable emotion that comes with letting myself be consumed by outside forces.
